Join a committee - be involved!

Committee Opportunities

One of the best ways you can make the most of your new membership in the Chamber Jeffersontown is to take an active role in one of our committees. Below is a list of the committees and a brief description of what each one does. Please take a moment to look over them and sign up today.

EDUCATION The Education Committee addressess employment and welfare issues by establishing relationships with various educational institutions, including area public and private schools, colleges and universities as well as vocational/training facilities. 

FINANCE  The Finance Committee oversees the financial well-being of the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce.

GASLIGHT FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE  Sign up to volunteer and have some major fun at any number of Gaslight Festival events held during the month of September. The Gaslight Festival is one of the top twenty events in the Southeast, a member of the Kentucky Festival and Events Association and attracts 200,000 people annually.

MEMBERSHIP  The Membership Committee meets every month. Its function is to develop the planning process for all events, projects and marketing materials to enhance the membership benefit package.  The meeting schedule for 2008 is January 16, February 20, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, August 20, October 15, November 19 and December 17.  All meetings are from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. in the Chamber Boardroom. 

NAVIGATORS Serve as the Chamber's representative by working as a liaison/mentor between potential, new and current members when actively attending events and visiting members.  All meeting except the November meeting will be from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. in Chamber Boardroom.  The November meeting will be from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT 
The Project Development Committee meets monthly to discuss such projects as the Business Expo, ribbon cuttings for new businesses, volunteerism to promote the Chamber and other special projects.
